I think I'm getting better, don't you think?

It's sunny and 72 outside, which is really messing with my head because it was snowing just a couple days ago. ::boggles:: Anyways, it feels like spring is in the air, and I thought I would do a picspam of springy flowers I found thru Google Images, Flickr, Photobucket, etc. Enjoy! I decided not to dye my hair burgundy this month. I've been dyeing my hair "Chocolate Cherry" by Feria for a couple years now, and I'm kind of sick of it - I love the way it looks the first two weeks after I dye it, but then the color starts fading, and it doesn't look as good. And it's a pain to dye my hair every single month. So I decided to go brunette - a light brown shade, also by Feria, because they make the best haircolor. What ended up happening was that my roots are now light brown, but the rest of my hair is basically still burgundy, but a lighter shade of it. Red doesn't let go easy.

My birthday is going good so far. I home from the airport about 1:00pm, and then trekked over to Target to print some of the pics from my trip, and also to do some shopping. I treated myself to a special edition of Indepence Day, my all-time favorite cheesy sci-fi summer blockbuster flick, along with two shirts. Now I'm enjoying a yummy caramel light frappucino and Starbucks' lovely wi-fi, and I shall tell you all about my adventures in Chicago this weekend. ( Way too many details and way too many pics, but you know you love it. )

Highlights of the trip: polar bears, seahorses, scary-but-awesome ferris wheel, and making out with Val again, even though I totally forgot to take pics of it. Val, please upload the pics you managed to get of it. Also, meeting two new friends and getting to spend two days hanging out with people who totally got it when I said stuff like, "Look, Ryann Street, it's a genderswap!" and didn't judge me when I told them about all my Frank Iero-impregnating dreams. Bandcon may have gotten cancelled, but we totally had our own little bandcon anyways.

I'm really sad I didn't get to hang out with bubonicplague, but maybe in the future I'll be able to visit Chicago again. I still need to see the Museum of Science and Industry, after all.

Admit it, glasses make one look...

I started wearing glasses when I was thirteen, but then as soon as I turned fourteen I begged to get contacts, and I wore them pretty much exclusively until late 2004. I switched purely because ktnb81 told me I looked smarter and cuter with glasses. Then I stuck with them because (a) I *do* think I look smarter with glasses and (b) glasses are way cheaper than contacts. You have to buy all that solution and get new lenses all the time, and glasses are just way less hassle.

My ears are ringing and I'm kind of exhausted, plus I have to go to work in an hour, so I'm not doing a blow-by-blow recap. Suffice it to say the entire concert was AWESOME. I didn't even know much about the three opening acts - I had some of The Cab's music on my iPod, but that was it. Now I definitely have to download some Metro Station and We The Kings. (Anyone wanna hook me up?)

Okay, why did no one tell me that the Simpsons Movie was freaking hilarious? I haven't laughed so hard at The Simpsons since like, Season 11.

And I just got an inch chopped off my hair and painted my nails a purple so dark it looks black for Halloween, so I figured now would be a good time. This is me wearing the grey hoodie I bought SPECIFICALLY because Pete Wentz is always wearing hoodies. I'm pathetic, I know. ( Pathetic, but TOTALLY CUTE too. )

So, I've officially lost 57 pounds, and I thought it was time to do a picspam of some full-body shots, instead of just face pics like I've been posting before. Please be gentle with me, it takes a lot of courage to post these online. *makes face*

I weighed myself last night and I've officially lost 47 pounds. OMG YAY! I'm SO SO CLOSE to a 50 pound loss, I can almost taste it. Also, I got my hair cut, so I decided to take a couple pics. Just for comparison's sake, here's a pic of me at my highest weight, back in October: ( Click )

What do you think? (Ignore the farmer's tan sunburning on my chest and shoulders. Yech.) I think I can definitely see some difference in my face, especially in the 2nd pic. My face & chin seems more defined.

I got my hair cut today, about 2 inches chopped off and majorly layered. I'm not sure I like it yet. For reference, here's what my hair used to look like: ( Click )

What do you think? It's a big change for me - I haven't had such short layers in years.

Also, can you tell a little that I've lost 22 pounds in the past 2 months? I think I can see a teeny difference in my face, but I might just be imagining it.

My friend Kate is kitten-sitting for the next couple weeks - her brother's 8 week old kitten has a respiratory infection (poor baby!) and can't be around his other cats, so Kate's taken him in. Naturally, I had to take pictures, because OMG KITTEN! ( Click for cuteness! )

So today I went out to Skyline Drive with my godmother to do the dorky Leafer tourist thing. It wasn't really a great day to do it, what with the overcast sky and fog all morning, but this was the only day both of us had free for the next couple weeks, so we sucked it up. Actually though, it turned out to be a great trip, and it wasn't crowded or anything, so that was a plus.

Oooooh, one really cool thing that happened? We saw a black bear. I'm not even ashamed to admit, the first thing that came to my mind was OMG SOULLESS RAMPAGING KILLING MACHINE!11!! Hee. No, but it was totally gentle and just stared at us blankly. Thank goodness!

Had a blast tonight at darthrami and strange_selkie's dinner party. Met lots of fun, interesting people, and re-met someone I'd met last Thanksgiving. *waves to fire_and_a_rose* Also, drank way too much port (yummy!) and watched Josie & the Pussycats, aka the Best.Movie.Ever.

Ooooh! Ooooh! Also, watched Dan Rad in a boy scout uniform flinging condoms. *fucking dies* I cannot believe my flist never alerted me to this clip before. Shame!

Anyways, I'm entirely too exhausted to come up with coherant postage, but I just had to post about my great night. And had to post this pic of me from 5 minutes ago, just because I look so tipsy and bleary adorable. Don't I? ( You Know I Do! )
